Fuller skirt
Played around with net and tulle to get the skirt looking fuller. There are two layers of nylon net and four layers of nylon tulle. Still got a top layer of silk organza to go!

Tailored conductor's jacket
It's been a while since I made a tailored jacket, but I really enjoyed re-learning all the specialist methods to create this jacket for a musician friend. It took hours, but mostly because I'm a perfectionist and wanted it to be 100% perfect! The fabric is cotton sateen, the buttons are silk satin and the lining is a liquid gold satin.
Grading patterns and making dresses
Busy week so far, started work on a wedding dress I'm making for a friend and finally got round to grading the Camp's Bay and Betty's Bay tunic top PDF patterns. Lots of people have asked for them in other sizes, so they will be available on etsy in a little while.

West Country quilt show
Had a lovely day out with mum last weekend. We went to the West Country quilt show and saw lots of beautiful quilts by Kaffe Fassett, Tula Pink, Alicia Merritt and the like. We attended a workshop run by the latter. Very inspiring and managed to not spend too much money!

Sheer panels
Cutaways and sheer panels seem really trendy at the moment. I've seen it in lots if couture garments and high street shops alike.
Donna Karan

Anthropologie

I've got a staff Xmas do to go to in a few weeks and thought I'd make a skirt inspired by this trend. Work in progress below:

Productive Saturday
I love this quilt made from Tula pink fabrics, so thought I'd try sewing a circle patch/ drunken path design.

Pattern:

Easing the curved seam together:

Not bad!

Progress on my polka dot dress. To pleat or to gather, that's the question...

Bought lots of gorgeous cushion covers on India that just sit on a shelf, so stapled one to a frame and it's now on the wall!
